The majority of questions I receive from readers of The Journey of Personal Evolution blog, as well as the Spirit Paths: The Quest for Authenticity book are about personal evolution and long-term relationships. The push/pull of the need for personal individuation and concurrent desire for meaningful connection with others is real.
Both are significantly challenging in the current cultural environment that is hyper-focused on becoming successful. Both are also necessary.
It seems sometimes that the race to become successful leaps over the fundamentals that are prerequisites of maintaining growth and development longer term. Trading short-term fame and influence for longer-term wisdom is shortsighted.
The reality is that unless the foundation of any relationship is firmly established, the structure built upon it will fail. Inevitably.
That foundation takes time, experience, and care to build.
This podcast presents an audio discussion and deep dive into the fundamentals of laying that foundation: Three Basic Human Needs and how they benefit and support long-term, alive relationships. If intentionally developed and carefully nurtured, the container of a solid relationship can be the incubator and support for true growth and deepening connection.
